PU times two!Pepe LaPew strikes again and again!
Bronson and Dino both got skunked twice in two days! The first time I panicked because I didn't have a clue what to do so while they are whining and stinking up the bathroom, I googled what to do.Now these ingredients are a staple in my house:
Deskunker
1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap
Wet the dog, and work the formula through their fur. Leave the mixture to set on the dog for four or five minutes, and then rinse thoroughly. Throw out any leftover remedy.

Dogs can jump!!!
As proud parents we think our dogs can do just about any thing. But there are limits....the other night as we pulled into the driveway and we were met by Dino and Bronson. My daughter stopped the car to make sure the dogs got out of the way. That was all Bronson needed. He jumped in the window from the wall into the the car! After a moment or two my startled daughter got him in the back seat and we safely pulled in.

We like to give the dog treats....who doesn't right?Bronson has never turned down a treat.Dino will take one occasionally.Other times Dino will just turn his nose up at the treat! But sometimes Dino will take the treat and try to hid it or bury it for later. He will strategically pick the place, dig up the dirt, cover the dirt with his nose, and go on his merry way.But without fail, Bronson will stay away (but peek) until the treat has been hidden or buried, then he'll dig it out and eat it!POOR DINO!!!!!!
Bronson has a cute way of getting your attention. He will paw you if he wants to be rubbed or if you stop rubbing him.He will paw you until you start rubbing him again.Dino picked up on this and has started doing the same thing.Like everything they do, it starts out cute buuuutttt....it can be bad if they want to rubbed at the same time.

Breakfast is served.
Hope you're not in a hurry at breakfast time says Dino.
I put the dogs food out at the same time, call Dino and Bronson in at the same time but Dino will not touch his food until Bronson is almost done with his and almost nods at Dino like ok you can eat now.It must be part of the dogs "eating code!"

I should have told Bronson and Dino about the birds and bees!
I was out in the backyard the other day with Bronson and Dino.Bronson was snapping at the bees like he usually does. Then Dino started doing it.
I don't even know if Dino knew what he was doing but he is such a copy-cat!I'm guessing if one of them gets a bee, they probably won't snap again.

2 for 1 special - Shadow Ryan
- 2 for 1 Special
I am out walking shadow like I do every morning hoping we don't come along too many critters as she is quite the hunter who likes to lunge, pull my shoulder out, and catch whatever gets her interest. As we are just about making our way home, I tell shadow it was a pretty quiet day in the animal food chain kingdom today. No sooner do I say it, does she lunge towards a cat (i was able to hold her), the cat turns around and their is a chipmunk hanging out of her mouth. Told Shadow there must of been a 2 for 1 special on the menu today. She looked at me like "what the ruff"? why didn't I let her eat?

I need to choose a new career for Bronson and Dino
I always thought Bronson and Dino would make good service dogs because they have sweet, loving personalities. My mind changed quickly when Eddie took the dogs to see my father-in-law when he was in the hospital. As soon as they got in my father-in-law's room, Bronson jumped up on grandpa's bed and Dino jumped on his roommates bed. They just looked at Eddie as to say "What the Ruff" we just wanted to snuggle.Needless to say, we realized they were just not ready to be service dogs.

We are very friendly!
Neither Dino or Bronson have an aggressive bone in their body. However, a simple leash is all it takes and they turn into Cujo. When they are on leash and see another dog on leash (it doesn't matter if its a pitbull or a toy poodle) they growl and the hair stands up on their backs. You would think they are going to tear apart the other dog apart.
I hope other dog owners understand this (because its embarrassing especially when they pick up their dog in fear of Dino and Bronson!)I'm open for any dog whisperer type advice!!

Just taking a "snake break"
Oh yes, spring time brings out the flowers, birds, and of course the snakes!Every year in the spring, it happens!Bronson will sneak off and find a snake in the neighborhood. He will come bouncing back to me in the yard proud as a peacock with the snake wiggling from his mouth thinking he has brought me the best gift that money could ever buy!But no worries all you snake lovers, he eventually will drop it and the snake will wiggle away!

Coats are for people
Sometimes in the cold weather people will ask us why we don't have a sweater or jacket on the dogs. My husband will always joke "we never made the kids wear a sweater or a jacket."But that's not the reason. The reason is we haven't found a style that the dogs are comfortable with because they always tear them off each other as as soon as we put them on.

What?I'm not hiding anything!
I am always amazed and wonder how Bronson would pick something off the ground(chicken bones, garbage and yes even small animals) anything he could put in his mouth. He would immediately hide it from me by turning his head away so I wouldn't see what he had. Until the other day when I saw Bronson and Dino watching my husband turning his head so they wouldn't see him eating a peanut butter sandwich.Monkey see monkey do!

"What the ruff folks, I was just checking to see what was for dinner"
Last spring on a day like this one, we were out in the yard with Dino and Bronson. We must not have been paying too much attention to the dogs because we noticed Dino was playing by himself. We called for Bronson and looked frantically everywhere for him. A little while later, the neighbors came out of their house with Bronson. They had relatives from out of town for dinner and had left their back door open for fresh air. They got a visit from our four legged friend who was in their house like he was the one that was invited over for dinner.
